The Edward S. Rogers. Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering



For over four decades, Adel Sedra has worked to advance the world of academia and Engineering. He received his MASc and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto. In addition, he received two Honorary Doctor of Laws and an Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Toronto, McGill and Queen's respectively. Sedra started his career as a faculty member with the University of Toronto in 1969 where he assumed a number of roles over three decades, including Chair of The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. This was closely followed by nine years serving as Vice-President, Provost, and Chief Academic Officer for the University of Toronto. Sedra is now Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
