Instructional Technology Office

The Instructional Technology Office provides leadership and consultation in matters related to the provision of technological services in support of the academic teaching activities in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, including the development and provision of academic technology solutions.
 
In addition, the Instructional Technology Office serves as the Faculty's primary resource for the University's learning management system (Blackboard) and collaborates with the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation and Information + Technology Services (Office of the CIO), Academic departments, and other groups on campus for the implementation of instructional and learning technology initiatives for the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. 

The Instructional Technology Office offers support, training and strategy in the area of technology-assisted course delivery. Some examples include:

  • Audience Response Systems
    (e.g. iClicker, mobile devices: laptops, smart phones, and tablets)
  • Designing online course delivery
  • Electronic/Technology Classrooms
  • Instructional Videos
  • Lecture Capture/Broadcast
  • Portal/LMS  (Blackboard)
  • Technology integrated learning
  • Virtual online teaching methods
  • Web 2.0 teaching tools
