Suggested Elective Seminars
PPIT students are required to take 4 elective seminars. Please check back soon with an updated list of seminars for this year. The majority of the elective seminars are offered by the Office of Teaching Advancement (OTA) and the Teaching Assistants Training Program (TATP). However, please note that not all workshops offered by OTA and TATP are available or suitable for the PPIT program. A list of suitable seminars will be included on this page.
The following policies apply to OTA and TATP seminars:
- You cannot count TATP seminars for both TATP and PPIT certificates.
- For OTA seminars, please register through Cathy Baillie indicating your name, the seminar you wish to participate; don't forget to let her know you are in the PPIT program.
- Please don't ask for the instructor signature as a proof of attendance. OTA and TATP will track your attendance and will mail letters to you directly or to us to confirm your attendance in any seminar(s) you attend.
- For TATP seminars when you register online, please write "(PPIT participant)" after mentioning your Department and program/year in the third line in the registration form.
Finally, you are encouraged to suggest possible elective seminars outside of OTA and TATP but must get approval by the PPIT coordinators in advance.
