Experiences with educational technology should be, and are, shared as much as possible. We’d like to help educators across the University work together to develop best practices, and share knowledge that can benefit everyone.
We’re constantly expanding our EdTech catalogue and would love to hear about your classroom tools and experiences. Contact us and share with us how you use your favourite tools and services.
We can help you plan, setup, and support many EdTech tools and we’ve included the most commonly used ones below. See anything that piques your interest? Contact us and we’ll figure out if it works for you.
Google Drive offers a collaborative document-sharing environment. It is particularly effective for group projects with its revision history for tracking changes, and its ability to allow students to chat while working together to edit a document.
Portal is the university wide Learning Management System platform, based on the Blackboard learning environment, where classes are automatically created. If you have any questions, or require any assistance with Portal, you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
NEW! Blackboard Collaborate is a webinar tool that is available in your Portal classes and organizations. Right now, it is available on a limited roll out basis. If you’d like to try Collaborate, please request to have the tool released for your course by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Top Hat is a Toronto-based classroom response system that uses any device to allow for student participation. Instructors can do things like conduct polls or quizzes, run interactive demonstrations, or share files in real time right on students’ laptops or other digital devices.
