This level supports the Faculty’s 80+ student clubs and teams with meeting rooms, storage, fabrication facilities and a flexible arena-like space. It also houses a computer teaching lab and a visualization facility with immersive screen technology. Supported by a generous $1 million commitment from the Engineering Society, this space will also be available for social events and building end-of-year capstone projects.
First & Second Floors: World-class Event Space & Auditorium
The 500-seat auditorium features a stadium-style video wall and is large enough to accommodate a vehicle. An integrated data communications system allows students to share content with the instructor and one another, enabling enhanced engagement and nimble transitions between lectures and group discussions.
Third Floor: Technology Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) Rooms
TEAL rooms offer an innovative approach to education that facilitates collaboration and experiential learning, assisted by technology and strategic design. Moveable chairs and tables serviced by multiple flat-panel screens allow for a variety of configurations. Some rooms offer 24-hour access to ensure that a team’s momentum is never lost.
Rapid prototyping and light fabrication facilities allow students to turn their ideas into working prototypes. Large, open-concept rooms hold specialized equipment as well as 3D printers. The workspaces are located near TEAL rooms so students can move quickly between the planning and production stages of projects.
Sixth Floor: Industry Collaboration & The Entrepreneurship Hatchery
The Entrepreneurship Hatchery provides space, equipment, mentoring and connections to support student ventures from concept to prototype. This level also includes offices for day use that will act as a “home on campus” for mentors, alumni or industrial collaborators.
Seventh Floor: Global Engineering & Leadership Education
