XSeed is an interdivisional research funding program that brings together researchers from U of T Engineering with those from other domains to address complex, multidisciplinary challenges. Now in its second year, XSeed is funding 19 projects with collaborating divisions and departments across the University, including the Faculty of Arts and Science, University of Toronto Mississauga, University of Toronto Scarborough and the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education.
XSeed builds on the success of EMHSeed, created in 2016 as a partnership between U of T Engineering, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network. Over the last four years, 29 projects have received funding through EMHSeed.
SEEDin Innovation is the first research symposium of its type at U of T, and will feature more than 40 projects supported by both XSeed and EMHSeed.
