Announcement: Advisory Committee – Associate Dean, Cross-Disciplinary Programs & Call for Nominations

On June 30, 2021, Professor Bryan Karney will be stepping down as Associate Dean, Cross-Disciplinary Programs. In accordance with Section 100 of the Policy on Appointment of Academic Administrators, Dean Yip has appointed a special committee to advise him on a possible candidate for the role.

Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean, Cross-Disciplinary Programs (AD-CDP) works closely with the Vice-Dean Undergraduate, providing strategic leadership on all aspects of the Faculty’s cross-disciplinary programs. The AD-CDP works collaboratively with the members of the First Year Office, the Senior Academic Leadership team, the Registrar, the Faculty administrative units, members of the Faculty Council Standing Committees, and other members of the University community to advance the mission of the Faculty.

The composition of the advisory committee is as follows:

Christopher Yip, Dean (Chair)

Markus Bussmann, Chair, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

Evan Bentz, Professor, Civil and Mineral Engineering

Lisa Camilleri, Chief Administrative Officer

Brian Coates, Chief Financial Officer

Greg Evans, Director, Institute for Studies in Transdisciplinary Engineering Education and Practice (ISTEP)

Elham Marzi, Assistant Professor, ISTEP

Emma Master, Professor, Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry

The Advisory Committee will begin meeting shortly and welcomes comments and nominations from interested persons. These may be sent to the attention of the Dean, by email at dean.engineering@utoronto.ca by Thursday, April 1, 2021.

Communications will be received in confidence and will be anonymized before consideration by the Advisory Committee.
