I am pleased to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Jane Howe as Acting Chair, Department of Materials Science & Engineering until June 30, 2023. Professor Glenn Hibbard is taking leave.
Jane joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 2019 with a cross-appointment to the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry (CHE) as an Associate Professor. Prior to becoming a faculty member of the University of Toronto, Jane was a Principal Investigator working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Electron Microscopy Centre for nine years. She also worked with Hitachi High Tech in the US and Canada for five years.
