CRAFT Virtual Research Symposium

The Centre for Research and Applications in Fluidic Technologies (CRAFT) is a unique partnership between the University of Toronto and the National Research Council of Canada that creates microfluidics-enabled devices for industrial and clinical applications. CRAFT includes academic and government researchers, trainees, clinicians and companies.
The CRAFT Virtual Symposium is a 3-day event that will showcase cutting-edge microfluidics research in organ-chips, biofabrication and microfluidics-powered diagnostic devices. It will feature three international keynote speakers, 50+ presentations, a Microfluidics Art Competition, a networking event, and much more.

Attendance Fee: $35 +HST

Key features of the 2021 CRAFT Virtual Symposium

  • hosted by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and the Training Program in Organ-on-a-Chip Engineering and Entrepreneurship (TOeP)
  • held on virtual symposium platform, where recordings of sessions will be available for on-demand viewing for 2 weeks
  • Three world-renowned keynote speakers
  • +40 presentations about leading-edge research in biofabrication approaches, organ-chips, microfluidic-powered diagnostic devices
  • TOeP Business Pitch Competition and TOeP trainee presentations
  • the CRAFT Microfluidics Art Competition
  • selected research presentations from the National Research Council’s Pandemic Response Challenge program
  • a trainee networking event with VIP guests from industry, government and academia
  • a fireside chat with a graduate student become company founder
  • an industry exhibit hall for microfluidics companies and vendors

Registration information

Registration Fee: $35(+HST) per person (from academia, government or industry).

Registration is now open and will close in mid-August 2021.

Registration fees will be waived for the following individuals:

  • CRAFT Fellows and other trainees presenting their CRAFT projects
  • Current TOeP trainees and Principal Investigators
  • Early career researchers who have been an independent investigator at a university or research hospital for 3 years or less AND anyone who is part of their research team.

If you are eligible for free registration and would like to attend the Symposium, please email the CRAFT Research Program Manager to be added to the registration list.
