Dr. Wendell Nii Laryea Adjetey Book Launch

Join the University of St. Michael’s College for the launch of “Cross-Border Cosmopolitans: The Making of a Pan-African North America” by Wendell Nii Laryea Adjetey (Nii Laryea Osabu I, Atrékor Wé Oblahii kè Oblayéé Mantsè).

Assistant Professor and specialist in post-Reconstruction U.S. and African Diaspora history at McGill University, Dr. Adjetey is the back-to-back recipient of McGill’s two teaching commendations: the 2023 Principal’s Prize for Excellence in Teaching and the 2022 H. Noel Fieldhouse Award for Distinguished Teaching.

Dr. Adjetey earned his honors B.A. in History and Political Science at the University of St. Michael’s College and continued on at U of T to graduate with an M.A. in Political Science and Ethnic, Immigration, and Pluralism Studies. He earned his Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. at Yale University in the Department of History and Department of African American Studies.

Before pursuing an academic career, Dr. Adjetey worked in youth gang prevention and intervention in north Toronto.
