Interested in research? Learn about the different ways you can gain research experience, engage with the research community, and think about research after graduation by attending our series of events about research opportunities for undergraduate engineering students. Check out the events taking place throughout January and February below and register to attend.

Undergraduate Engineering Research Showcase

This showcase is your place to learn all about undergraduate research! Past student researchers will present their research poster and speak about their research experience. Professors will also be on-site to answer your research-related questions.

Learn about various research opportunities offered by CGEN, Laidlaw Scholars Program, Reach Alliance, TRANSFORM HF, AC-SURP, and more! Chat with peers from the Engineering Career Centre for application tips and tricks. Plus, learn how you can get involved in the research community through USRP and UnERD.

Come out to learn about research opportunities while enjoying snacks and games with peers!

Research Opportunities Workshop #1: What is Research and Is It for Me?

What is research? What is the benefit of research? Do you see yourself as a researcher? Join this exploratory workshop to learn more about what research is, the value of undergraduate research experience in Engineering, and how research skills can be applied to future careers in research or in industry. Refreshments will be provided!

UnERD Planning Committee Information Session

Are you interested in event planning? Do you enjoy research? Consider applying to be a member of the UnERD Planning Committee!

We are recruiting students to plan and coordinate the 2025 Undergraduate Engineering Research Day where undergraduate Engineering students will showcase their research to industry professionals and fellow students, inspiring the exchange of innovative solutions across a wide breadth of global challenges. This annual conference is planned and organized by students to promote collaboration and networking.

Refreshments will be provided at the in-person session.

Note: This is one of two sessions being offered. Please choose to attend one. If you cannot attend this session, another session will be offered virtually on February 6.
