U of T Community Pride (formerly U of T Pride Pub)

Promotional image of U of T Community Pride (formerly known as Pride Pub) on June 7. The image features a multi-coloured gradient overlay with a background image of a drag performer performing in the Hart House quad.

Happy Pride!

From its inception following the Stonewall Riots in 1969, Pride has always been more than a celebration: Pride commemorates pain and loss within 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and it serves as a demonstration to highlight the continued importance of resisting homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, particularly in their intersections with other identities and experiences. And as we actively work against anti-2SLGBTQ+ violence and all forms of oppression, it is vital that we recognize the leadership of queer and trans Black, Indigenous and Two-Spirit, and queer and trans people of colour communities in Pride movements. 2SLGBTQ+ liberation must be intersectional, centring those who are most marginalized within and outside of our communities.

We hope that you will join us for Pride events that honour our diverse 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Let us come together to break isolation, sustain our communities, and celebrate each other and ourselves, with Pride.
