Buckyball - Our largest event this year was Buckyball, the annual dinner dance hosted by the MSE Club. This year's celebration was particularly special, as we expanded our guest list to include more professors and alumni, which totaled out to more than 140 attendees, thus fostering greater community engagement across different generations of MSE students. The evening featured a lively performance by the Skule Band, adding a spirited touch to the night’s festivities. The event also included the presentation of year-end awards, recognizing both academic excellence and outstanding contributions to the club and department.
Coffee House Chats - We focused on enhancing our Coffee House chats, which saw a notable improvement in quality despite overall budget cuts. These gatherings included a campus-wide talent show, inviting participation from the broader student body and offering a platform for creative expression. Complimentary drinks and refreshments added a welcoming touch, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many students expressed that these events provided a much-needed break and sense of camaraderie, especially during high-stress periods such as exam season.
The CPSIF funding had a significant impact on our student group this year, enabling us to elevate the quality and reach of our events despite facing budget constraints. With this support, we were able to host a variety of events, including Coffee House chats, Valentine's Day Candygrams, Buckyball, Year-end socials, Iron Ring Party, and create new merchandise for the MSE student body. We are incredibly grateful to the funding areas and donors who make these opportunities possible—your generosity directly supports student well-being, community-building, and the enrichment of campus life. Thank you for investing in the student experience.
