Skule Stageband
Skule Stageband is U of T Engineering’s very own jazz band. We aim to support and develop musicians of all skill levels while spreading Skule spirit - ultimately creating a fun and inclusive band environment for all. We strive to achieve this goal through performance opportunities at various Skule events, as well as weekly rehearsals where members can develop their skills.
Key Accomplishments for 2025-2026
Annual Performance - Earlier this spring, Skule Stageband held our annual performance at Supermarket in Kensington Market, showcasing the musical numbers that our ensembles have been working on throughout the year. Stageband Blue, Gold, and Combo each played a one-hour set of tunes, with many members of the Skule community in the crowd supporting our musicians. This culminating event was a rewarding performance opportunity for our members.
Tri-School Battle of the Engineering Bands - Skule Stageband's Gold ensemble participated in the first ever tri-school Battle of the Engineering Bands (U of T, Waterloo, McMaster). This marks the beginning of a new friendship (and perhaps rivalry!) between the engineering jazz bands of these three schools.
Other Events - Our bands also played at a number of events throughout the year; all of our ensembles played at various discipline dinner dances throughout the years, as well as a number of gigs at the infamous S***.
CPSIF Funding Impact
Thanks to CPSIF funding, Skule Stageband is able to offer a wide variety of rehearsal and performance opportunities to help our members grow musically. CPSIF covers a range of items from equipment repairs and upgrades, to transportation costs, to venue booking fees. All of these items contribute to our goal of giving our students an accessible and enjoyable experience making music together, and sharing it with the broader community.
