Shimana Periye - Our flagship networking and cultural event, designed to foster community leadership, cross-cultural dialogue, and creative expression within the Bangladeshi and broader U of T student communities. With over 100 attendees, the 2024–2025 edition featured performances, alumni engagement, and a curated showcase of Bangladeshi heritage. CPSIF funding enabled professional-quality production and accessibility support, helping the event earn Program of the Year from U of T Student Life for its inclusive impact and excellence.
Shornali Shondha - Another commendable program that was arranged by BSA (2024-2025) was "Shornali Shondha," our biggest gala night. This event had 450 attendees with a budget exceeding 22,000 CAD. The event was arranged to celebrate Bangladeshi culture. It was a glamorous night with dances and singing performances. BSA have also arranged a game night in December. Though it was a small-scale event, the event was a great destressor before the final exams season.
Thanks to CPSIF funding, we were able to organize Shimana Periye at a significantly higher standard, providing a professional venue, technical equipment, and accessible entry—ensuring an inclusive experience for over 100 attendees. The support helped us celebrate culture meaningfully while strengthening student leadership and alumni engagement. We are deeply grateful to the donors and funding areas for making such impact-driven initiatives possible and empowering cultural communities on campus.
