Bridging Horizons - The Bridging Horizons was a campus-wide firm fair for architecture and engineering students to connect with and learn about firms and companies in these fields. We helped students gain exposure to the various industries currently working in the GTA and created an opportunity for ten companies to speak with students and share their work with a broader audience. In collaboration with the Civil Engineering Club and Architecture and Visual Studies Student Union, the 3-hour event amassed over 300 students.
ARCH-ENGage - Our club hosted ARCH-ENGage for the first time this year. Recognizing a disconnect between current students and UofT alumni from the architecture and engineering faculties, we wanted to find a way to bring alums back to the school and share their stories with us. This 2-hour event invited 11 distinguished guests to present 8-minute presentations about themselves and the paths they took during and after university. In collaboration with the Civil Engineering Club and the Architecture and Visual Studies Student Union, the event amassed over 100 students.
The CPSIF funding enabled our student organization to organize our annual events on a larger scale, ensuring that students and guests received the best experience possible. We were able to invest in larger event venues, appropriate catering services for all attendees, and gifts for event guests. We are glad that the financial support we received this year contributed to the success of our activities year-round.
