Various Events - This was a historical year for Hi-Skule! We hosted about 500 high school students over 4 events and about 100 university students over 2 events. A major success was our University of Toronto High School Design Competition which amassed over 250 high school students, a 53% increase from the previous year. This event really opens the door of what engineering truly means to high schoolers that may be interested in pursuing that career path. Another big success was our Mentorship Coffeehouse event. We sold 15 more tickets than our capacity and we had a lot of walk ins! This event allowed for students to really ask their questions to or panel of upper year university student mentors. Asking questions about program compatibility, student life, and admissions really helped high school students in making their choice for university and their future!
Thanks to CPSIF Funding, we were able to increase the size of our annual high school design competition. This year, we were able to accommodate over 250 students from across the GTA since with CPSIF Funding, we were able to book larger venues to accommodate the large number of students. Also this year, we were able to purchase different coloured shirts for our executives. Previously, the execs wore the same shirts as mentors which would be confusing during an event. Thanks to CPSIF Funding, we were able to increase exec visibility and recognition for quicker support during events.
