Blue Mountain Trips - In Winter 2025, we organized two affordable day trips to Blue Mountain on January 11 and 18 with 51 total student participants. Thanks to CPSIF funding, we were able to subsidize lift tickets, rental tickets, and transportation costs, and offer beginner-friendly lesson packages. These trips created a welcoming environment for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and promoted an active lifestyle beyond academics.
Mont Tremblant - Our flagship event of the year was a 3-day ski trip to Mont Tremblant, run in collaboration with the University of Toronto Ski & Snowboard Club (UTSSC), with 111 students in attendance. CPSIF funding allowed us to reduce the group trip costs for students, especially first-time skiers, by covering part of transportation and group accommodation. The trip was a huge success in community-building, with many students forming new friendships while experiencing skiing and snowboarding for the first time.
Info Night - We hosted a social/info night at the start of the winter term to introduce students to the club, share trip details, and answer questions. Over 30 students attended, with many going on to register for our trips with their friends. This event helped first-time skiers feel more comfortable and contributed to a welcoming, inclusive club culture.
Thanks to CPSIF funding, the Skule Ski Club was able to run safe, affordable, and inclusive ski trips to Blue Mountain and Mont Tremblant in Winter 2025, making winter sports more accessible to Engineering students. The funding allowed us to subsidize lift tickets, rentals, transportation, and beginner lessons by 30%, directly reducing financial barriers. Over 160 students participated in our events, including many first-time skiers. These experiences fostered community, encouraged active lifestyles, and helped students build friendships beyond academics. We’re incredibly grateful for CPSIF’s support in promoting inclusivity and well-being through accessible recreation.
