EigenAI - We were able to organize our large-scale beginning of year AI event, EigenAI, where we had 300 students attend and were able to secure several speakers and a large event hall (Myhal) that was greatly benefitted by having the costs subsidised through CPSIF funding.
ML Projects - We were able to fully subsidise the cost of our ML project teams and their need for compute power that saw a capital investment of ~$1.5K which was fully funded by the CPSIF funding. This helped to raise the level of our ML project's quality as many of them were in collaboration with leading industry partners and/or had wide industry applications.
AI^2 Tournament - Our AI^2 tournament was able to provide numerous prizes and incentives for 200 students to participate and join in a unique streetfighter style RL tournament that was a combination of both workshops and a competition format.
Due to increased CPSIF funding, this year we were able to fully cover capital costs for our ML projects without it taking away from our events budget of the year. This greater increase in funds allowed us to fully maximise our impact to the wider UofT AI community as we could invest more in our technical capabilities without sacrificing our events budget. As such CPSIF has greatly contributed to our success this year as it has allowed us to continue to grow steadily and allowed for our operations to be scale sustainably.
