Participation in Clubs Fair - The first initiative that UTSRI was involved in was the 2024 Clubs Fair in King's College Circle. This annual event marked the very first promotion-based initiative that allowed the organization to interact with hundreds of students. The organization printed 500 informative pamphlets on its mission, and every single one was taken within the first two hours. By the end of the event, UTSRI had roughly 100 general members, many of whom became part of the committee just a few months later. This initiative helped UTSRI members expand their social networks and interact with everyone on campus, making it a great confidence- and public-speaking-building exercise.

High School Case Competition - The second initiative UTSRI was involved in was a first of its kind: the 2025 High School Case Competition, which featured over 100 participants from high schools across the GTA. Thanks to our Communications department, UTSRI was able to present this initiative to numerous schools, including doctors, teachers, and students. With significant buy-in, it was most certainly a success. UTSRI came together as an organization and worked from very early in the morning to late at night, booking out the entire OISE building and ensuring that coordination was flawless. Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, with first-, second-, and third-place winners receiving both monetary prizes and certificates. Cases were developed in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Integrated Science fields, where students worked tirelessly to win and enhance their collaboration, critical thinking, and team-building skills.
